Workshop for forest educators of the Slovenia Forest Service

In April, the LIFE Wild Wolf project organized a training course in forest education for the employees of the Slovenia Forest Service in the Celje Urban Forest. About 50 participants were educated about the use of materials prepared so far on the topic of large carnivores and forests, and learned about the good practices of the SFS Celje Regional unit.

LIFE VARNA PAŠA project’s representative talked about the project and planned activities on the topic of forest education. Also, a manual was presented, developed by the HFR - Healthy Forest Regions’ project. The Manual offers a compilation of knowledge on forest education, an approach that expands knowledge about forests based on experience.

The Slovenia Forest Service has great potential to transfer new knowledge to younger generations, local people and other stakeholders. In order to increase the level of knowledge on large carnivore conflict prevention among forest educators, the LIFE Varna paša project will prepare an outdoor education module as a pilot approach to present different environmental topics.
